• How does BajanListings work?

  BajanListings is a simple to use but powerful web application that connects buyers with sellers in Barbados. Sellers can register on the site and list items or services for sale or for donation. Sellers add relevant keywords to their listings that help buyers find items they are looking for. Besides keywords, sellers can also add a note to the listing containing any additional information that may be useful to a prospective buyer.

  Users search for items by any combination of keyword(s) think google and can click on a listing for more details including additional images, notes and a link to directly contact the seller by Whatsapp message or mobile phone.

  BajanListings is not party to any transactions between buyers and sellers that connect on this site. BajanListings accepts NO LIABILITY for listings placed on the site, or subsequent transactions between buyer and seller. All parties are advised to exercise common sense when meeting third parties or exchanging items listed on this or any other site.

• What makes keywords so important?

  Keywords are what the system uses to find what you are looking for. The more relevant keywords the better. Ask yourself, if were trying to find this item on google, what keyword(s) would I type in? The amount of characters avaliable for keywords are limited by design, use them wisely, do not waste them on superlatives like 'best', 'deal', 'super', 'tasty' etc, no one is looking for super tasty fishcakes, they are just looking for fishcakes.. The order of the keywords do not matter.

  Example Keywords for listing:
  Car: car toyota corolla GLX 1992 green vehicle automatic.
  Car Part: nissan pathfinder 2016 back rear door handle es300-04-06 new.
  Pair of Shoes: leather black size 6 timbalands new shoes footwear school church work.

• What search tips can you give me, can I use operators like on google?

  Here is a tip, start with one word and see where that goes. You can use the 'or' and 'and' and 'not' operators as well to filter results see below.

  e.g.
  Search 'car green' returns listings with keywords car AND green.
  Search 'blender green or yellow' returns all listings with blue OR yellow blenders.
  Search 'blender -yellow' returns all listings with blenders EXCEPT yellow ones.
  

• I am on Facebook and "de gram" what makes BajanListings different?

  The BajanListings team are Bajans, the Zuck is not.

  For the seller, there is no need to "bump" your listing to the top every few hours, once your listing is added with the appropriate keywords you just have to wait for the buyers to come to you. Listings appear instantly as you post them.

  For the buyer, you can directly find what you are looking for and contact the seller directly. There is no scrolling through listings or joining multiple marketplaces. As a buyer, there is no registration necessary, you just go to the site and start searching. The barrier to entry compared to Facebook and Instagram is greatly reduced.

• Ort, but I am so conditioned to waste time scrolling on Insta and Facebook Marketplace I skeptical this could work

  We are not tryng to replace those sites that exist only to waste your time and serve you ads. You are free to get your fix there when ever you want. Think of BajanListings as a Utility; the utility being, I have a need for x item or service and I know there is someone that possibly has what I want. How can I find that person as efficiently as possible?

  Or

  I got some stuff (baby clothes, limes, car rims) here that good but I want to get rid of it; I am sure this could benefit someone else, how could that be arranged as efficiently as possible?

• I wish BajanListings had categories like websites 20 years ago when the Internet first started.

  Does google.com have categories?

  Exactly...

• How am I going to know what to search for?

  Search for what you are looking for. If you dont find it, sign up and post something that you yourself have so the next person would have a better chance of finding what they are looking for. Over time, everyone benefits.

• What items or services can I list?

  Anything that is not illegal or stolen and that is legally yours to sell, trade or donate. What may be junk to you or an unwanted item is valuable to someone else, list it so they can find it.

  Any illegal listings or scams will be deleted and the account banned permanently.

• I just found a listing that probably should not be here, what do should I do?

  If you have an account and you are logged in you can Flag the listing and it will be reviewed by our moderators. If you are not use the CONTACT US button below and send us a link to the listing and a brief note on why it should be removed. Either way, it is ENTIRELY up to the discretion of our moderation team what will be done to the listing.

• I need more than 5 listings 😭

  This feature is coming soon, but click the Contact Us link below to speak to the BajanListingsTeam.

• How much does this cost?

  It is free to register on BajanListings.com. This free registration gives you up to 5 simultaneous listings with each listing having up to 2 pictures. At any time you can delete, modify or add a listing up to your max allowed simultaneous listings.

• Then, how do you make money?

  We don't, yet.

• Can I place ads for my business or service on Bajanlistings?

• Do I have to register?

  You dont, however when you register you can add your own listings, flag listings, follow other users and be notified when they list new items.

• How do I register

  Upper right hand corner and follow the instructions. You will need a valid Email Address, and BAJAN (1 246) mobile number and be on Whatsapp. Both your Email and Mobile Number will be validated during the signup process.
